JamBots questions, answered

JamBots is a hosted service for persistent AI bots. Each bot keeps one conversation, remembers what it learns, runs on a schedule and works on its own cloud computer. There is a free plan, you can bring your own model key on every plan, and bots ask for approval before anything consequential.

About JamBots

When can I use JamBots?

JamBots is invite-only for now. To ask for an invite, join the waitlist at jambots.ai/waitlist and tell us what you would have a bot do. We send invites in small groups, and each invite link takes you straight to sign-up. If you already have an account, sign in at app.jambots.ai.

What is JamBots?

JamBots is a hosted service where you create persistent AI bots that remember, run on a schedule, use their own computer, and ask before they act. Each bot keeps one continuous conversation, works in the background and comes back with results. It asks a person only when it needs information, judgment or approval. You use it from the web app.

How is JamBots different from a chatbot?

A chatbot answers while you watch. A JamBots bot keeps going after you leave: it remembers what it learned, runs routines on a schedule, uses its own cloud computer with a browser and desktop, and messages you when it has a result, a question or an action that needs your approval.

Do I need my own AI model key?

You can bring your own key for OpenAI, Anthropic, OpenRouter or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint on every plan, or connect a ChatGPT subscription. Pro and Team include a monthly allowance of JamBots-provided model usage, so you can start without a key once buying a paid plan opens, which is planned. Every model call is metered with tokens and cost either way.

Can JamBots run commands on my own computer?

Bots never run commands on your machine. Each bot works on its own cloud computer, with a shell, a file system, a browser and a desktop. You can watch that screen live, take control to sign in or solve a CAPTCHA, and hand control back.

Which devices does JamBots work on?

Today JamBots is a web app that you use in any modern browser. Desktop apps for macOS and Windows and a native mobile app are planned, not available yet. Results, questions and approval requests appear in the bot's thread, where you answer them.

Pricing

How much does JamBots cost?

JamBots has four plans: Free at $0, Pro at $29 per workspace / month, Pro BYOK at $19 per workspace / month, and Team at $25 per member / month, 3 members minimum. While JamBots is invite-only nobody is charged: checkout for paid plans is planned. Bring-your-own-key works on every plan.

What happens if I use more than my plan includes?

Nothing today: you use your own key, and your provider bills that usage. With the planned paid plans, usage beyond the monthly allowance will be billed as overage up to a spend cap you set for the workspace. When a planned paid plan lapses, JamBots-provided usage stops, and bots on your own key keep working.

Is there a free plan?

The Free plan costs $0 and includes 2 bots, each with memory and routines, and 2 computer hours a month. You bring your own model key. Moving to a paid plan for more bots, more computer hours or included usage is planned, together with checkout.

Security

How does JamBots protect my API keys?

Model keys and other credentials are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM. After you save one, the API only ever returns a masked hint, never the value. Credentials are never placed in a model's context, and automated tests check that a planted secret never reaches a log, an event or a message.

Can one workspace see another workspace's data?

One workspace cannot see another. The workspace is the security boundary. Bots, threads, memory, computers, connections and files never cross between workspaces unless a person shares them on purpose. The database enforces this with row-level security on every workspace table, so a bug in one query cannot read another workspace's rows.

What stops a bot from doing something I did not want?

A bot must get approval before any consequential action, such as sending, buying, deleting, posting or writing to an outside system. The bot posts an approval card, and you choose Allow once or Deny. An approval nobody answers expires after 10 minutes and the action does not run. Every outside action is recorded before it runs.
